It was yesterday we had our last EBM for this term
284 days as Shieh Lin count, the amount of days we spend as a team as EB 2010/2011 in AIESEC LC UTM.
It was intense learning experience as an EB. There are many things I learn as a person, as a team member, as a leader, as an AIESECer. I might hate and scare of commitment but it is somehow build me to be a stronger person. Zhang, our LCP, told us to say "thank you" and praise our EB team, either personally or as a whole team.
It touch my heart very deep.
I remember almost everything like a flashback to the beginning of my journey in AIESEC, in this LC. The day I saw their booth in FAB parking lot at night with Faruq. When I just passed by and don't even care to sign up their application form.
I've no interest at all except with word "exchange". I thought it was a student exchange where I can study and take one or two semester in another country. It wasn't. Faruq went to their so called, MIA - Malam Interaksi AIESEC, a kind of introduction night to the organization. I still remember what Faruq said that they provide food :P
I think not till August or September I met the first AIESE member, which called themselves AIESECers, named Kar Teck. Faruq introduced me to him. After all of his explanation I think i should try the chances and join the 1st AIESEC gathering ever in my life, just to found out that it was a CD (Chief Delegates) election (or was it Doria presentation ??). There are 4 people apply for the position, Aik Long, faye, wei jun, raphael. Ah ya, that time I didn't know what is CD, basically AIESEC in Malaysia has annual conference where all of AIESEC member in Malaysia will gather around and every LC delegation will be lead by the CD.
I stay for a while and said to Kar Teck that I want to join this organization after seeing such performance from the CD delegates and how warm are they to me, the new-unknown-kid. I filled in the "bistro" and later assigned to be member of OGX.
I was scared but filled in with excitement to have my first department meeting. My boss that time was, Eky. He is awesome . . very detail and effective but he still able to laugh with the member. In that department i met with Hong Teik, Loh, Say Voon, Hooi Chie, Zhang, Safura, Kim, Aurel and there are few of them I forget they name, sorry guys. That time I never thought that I will meet again as a team with some of them and spend my amazing 3 years in AIESEC.
I remember the passion OGXers have, still remember that time we are preparing material for OGX promotion and booth. I remember Say Voon and Hooi Chie ( they are the craziest, most cheerful team mate ) always talk talk and talk and release lot of tension inside the department and Loh. The 2 girls were awesome but if you add Loh inside it was excellent. I remember Zhang seems-weird-annoying-look-like face every time we have our department meeting. Remember how Kim and Hong Teik guide me and help me understand department. That Aurel came from Eastern Malaysia or how Safura, which that time is the most prettiest and kind girl that I know, come far away just to attend our department meeting and she was not in same university as us.
OGX was awesome but I want more, I want to know more and learn more and the chance came. Wei Jun as the CD and Faye, Raphael and Aik Long as the ACD ask for volunteer to become CD Team. Without any doubt me and Faruq join. Inside CD team I met new friends, Izzi and Ooi. As CD team all of us need to come out with preparation for GV (Global Village) as part of the conference I told before. We need to design t-shirt and prepare material for the GV performance and come out with the LC square dance.
There were 3 design for the t-shirt, from Faye, Raphael and Reza. We confuse to decide which one to be and Wei Jun finally decide that we need to use all of the design. I really don't care about it because it seems nice in laptop until it came out to production and we need to wear it. Izzi came out with the LC square dance which also another craziness that we accept as the "inexperience newbie". Borrowing KASKUS phrase it will be "nubitol". Hahahahaha . . . it still fun to be anyway :)
Then for the performance during GV we decide it will be a role play which related to Romania culture, something related to Dracula :P
Faruq make presentation about romania and I just help to prepare some properties for the role play, a bow gun, a sword and a stake.

Yeah the first year always interesting so there will be another post to cover the whole 1st year experience in AIESEC :)
Till then . . i hope i can finish my assignments, projects and my problem and finish this semester with good result . . ciaoz.... :D
